James always provides high levels of support to his colleagues and is a valued trusted senior nurse. He will often take on extra tasks and work to support his colleagues without question. James is positive, helpful and respectful on every shift.
James acts as a foundation within the Home Treatment Team West, particularly with supportive functions such as NHSP shift coordination, quality checklists and audits, and facilitating student placements.
James is always the first person to volunteer ideas, suggestions and vision for the development of Home Treatment services, and is extremely open minded in promoting reflective practice within Home Treatment. He is creative and innovative in providing care and support to patients and their families & carers, he recognizes each individual has their own unique experiences and will adapt his approach accordingly. James has a kind and gentle approach with people and works with great humility in a person-centered way.
In addition to clinical duties James takes responsibility for managing the NHSP bank shifts for Home Treatment Team West. He organizes and facilitates a rolling student programme with the local universities and ensures every month the quality checklist and audits are completed. James regularly goes the extra mile in providing high quality care to service users – he will regularly stay after his shift to ensure his colleagues are supported or a piece of work is followed through to the end result.
James is friendly and welcoming and values everyone’s contribution to providing care. The Trust values are evident in all areas of James practice and attitude towards staff and patients, including families and carers is outstanding. James takes a very thorough approach to his role and is an outstanding student mentor. He is positive in encouraging staff wellbeing and will often make kind gestures to staff such as sharing eggs from his rescued ex-battery hens!
