The nomination said...

Ellen has delivered a consistently excellent standard of care to the service users on the ward and leadership to the ward staff. She has completed her Non-Medical Prescriber course, which will enhance her skills and knowledge towards patient care. She has also been an active member of the leadership team for Churchill Ward in maintaining its standard of care in a challenging environment.

Her care plans are of a high standard and co-produced with the service users. She spends time with the service users to ensure that their care plans truly reflect their issues and how the service user would like to manage their issues to work towards recovery.

Ellen has been at the forefront in supporting the team on Churchill ward to improve their standards and confidence in demonstrating their knowledge and ensure that the ward is as safe as possible.

One of the greatest compliments anyone can give you as a nurse is that “I would like my love ones, to be nursed by you”- this is what I feel regarding Ellen. She portrays confidence, compassion and skills in abundance. She embodies the Trust values and behaviours and every encounter I have with her is positive and I leave feeling confident that our service users are in very safe hands.

I’m not Ellen’s line manager and I don’t have a long history of knowing her but within my previous role as service line lead and in my current role as Head of Quality Improvement, she is a charge nurse that stands out to me of being highly competent, a brilliant team player, respected by all and committed to providing the best possible care for people. I see her as a very promising leader for the Trust in the future.
