I began therapy with Emilia in autumn 2017 as a shy girl who struggles with emotions and self-love. Over the time we shared on alternate Mondays, she helped me feel proud of myself and the traits I had.

I was referred to Emilia after first seeing a nurse. I was dealing with a lot of things at the time, was suffering with anxiety and had frequent panic attacks. Emilia made a big difference to me as she gave me lots of techniques to help. My anxiety was linked to coping with major events – sometimes things just happen out of nowhere and it would build up. Emilia has helped me to recognise the signs and separate myself from it so I can calm down and focus on other things which are more important.

One time I was extremely stressed as there were so much going on in my life. Emilia spent so much time with me – my therapy session went on for much longer than it was supposed to – she just let me talk and get everything out. It was really good not to feel rushed and it really did make a difference. She is also really appreciative and tells me how proud she is of me and that I’m doing great. You can tell that she actually cares – I’ve seen so many people in the past who just do the job for the money, but with her it’s different. I finished my first course with her and now she has offered me some extra family therapy as she knows that I have had some other issues and wants to help.

No matter how big or small the event, Emilia never fails to tell me she is proud of me and gives me encouragement to continue. Without her support over the past year, I wouldn’t be the person I am today and have achieved the things I have. Through learning to prioritise myself and my anxiety first, I now know how to prevent panic attacks.

Emilia is brilliant and definitely deserves an award.
